Dr. P R Vydianathan is an eminent Cardiologist from Coimbatore, who has been honoured with numerous prestigious awards for his substantial contribution to the field of Cardiology.

He completed his MBBS with distinction from University of Calicut (1981). Post this, he gained higher education in medicine by completing his MD (General Medicine) from University of Kerala followed by Dip. NB (Cardiology).

Dr. P R Vydianathan has been associted with G Kuppusamy Naidu Memorial Hospital, Coimbatore since 1994 where he established a very active interventional unit. He is the Medical Officer In-charge of Cath Lab where approximately 4,000 procedures are performed every year which includes over 2,500 Cardiac and 1,000 Peripheral Interventions including Pediatric interventions. He also contributed immensely in initiating an Electrophysiology Program for implanting pacemakers and other heart saving devices.

He has presented research papers & delivered lectures at various national and international forums in addition to training future cardiologists as the Program Director of Dip.NB Cardiology.
